For the leveling with growing and shrinking. Try shrinking a lot. :)

May I ask a few questions Intradom?

Yup sure, go for it!

(Sorry for my very poor english.)

  1. Is this fan game ambitious or not?

  2.  Do you plan a story for the game?

 3. Bosses in the future perhaps?

 4. What is your goal with this fan game?

 5. Enemies in the future?

Hello! Thank you for the questions. Here are the answers:

1) For the near future, I don't have plans to continue development on Mario 2.5. However, the source code for the game can be obtained at https://github.com/Intradom/Mario_25 in case you (or anyone else) would like to add new content to the game.

2) No story is/was planned for this game.

3) My original idea was to test out a dimensionality shift in the original Mario game along with some other twists, so there were no bosses planned.

4) I was hoping to test out different ideas and polish my development skills with this game for personal development. In terms of the game's development, refer to 1).

5) There definitely could be enemies in the future! Perhaps enemy goombas who can also go through the tunnels. However, as stated in 1), I currently have no plans to work on this game in the immediate future, so enemies would not be added in unless someone else were to do it.

Sorry for the disappointing answers, but I'm  trying to develop my game making skills and test out new ideas right now, so most of my work will be focused on released small, prototype games that likely won't get many updates. However, once I feel more comfortable, I will try to transition to a bigger game with more support! If you enjoy my work, feel free to follow my Itch account!

Thank you for playing Mario 2.5!

Don't worry! I wasn't disappointed since I've done the same thing (I did it with Mario Fan Games though.)  I actually made an Itch.io account to follow you since I was a fan of some of your prototypes. I have a friend who has been wanting to make a Fan Game of a Nintendo franchise. Is it ok if i send him the source code? (He'll probably say no since he isn't a fan of using unity anymore and wants to use a different engine but it's worth a shot eh?) Can't wait to see more from you! (Once again sorry for my poor English.)

Sure, go ahead and send him it! It's a public repo on purpose :D

Good luck and let me know if anything cool comes out of it!

I'm a really big fan of the concept. A few problems I had : I hate how fast Mario walks, pipes were very ignoring to enter, the first world was fun but it could of looked prettier imo ( I do understand the reasoning of the ground being the way it is. But it'd be nice if you could find a way to make the courses just pretty), music and sound effects would be really appreciated, I wish you had to obtain the fire flower like the big and small coin thing and lastly Id like to see a world map... I know this is a prototype and wont be like the final product but id like to see these things "fixed". idea for the game ( I kind of did add some ideas in the complaints thing but aw well...) : Different weather that can effect curtain things in the level.

MARIO WONT GO IN TUNNEL

If Mario "can't" go in the tunnel, try standing near the center of the tunnels and pressing the down key a few times. If Mario "won't" go in tunnel, I applaud your determined mind; however, some levels will therefore become impossible to beat through conventional means.

Thanks for playing though :D

Neat idea. Bad execution. But it's pretty good for a prototype.
